STEENS — Columbus Christian Academy boys basketball excelled in overtime, defeating Delta Academy, 86-71, on Friday night.
Garrett Weathers was the difference for the Rams (9-1), who are 1-0 in district play, as he scored a game-high 29 points, including 10 points in overtime alone.
Four players finished in double figures in scoring for CCA, including Caleb McCarter (16 points) and Drake Shaw (14).
CCA will travel to play Regents of Oxford in its next game at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Northwest Rankin 48, Starkville 47
FLOWOOD — Starkville girls basketball lost an incredibly close game against Northwest Rankin on the road Saturday, 48-47.
Forward Zariyah Edwards led the Yellow Jackets (8-2) in scoring, delivering a 23-point performance in the loss. Jamaica Young also had 15 points and Je’Niecia Hill had 10 points for Starkville.
Starkville will take on Tupelo in its next game at 6 p.m. Jan. 3.
Corinth 39, Caledonia 24
CALEDONIA — Caledonia girls basketball was defeated by Corinth, 39-24, on Friday night.
Ashia Williams led the Cavaliers (4-4) with 10 points in a losing effort.
Caledonia will travel to play Itawamba Agricultural in its next game at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Delta Academy 47, Columbus Christian Academy 35
STEENS — Columbus Christian Academy girls basketball lost to Delta Academy on Friday night, 47-35.
The Rams (7-4) were led by Satavia Watkins, who scored 11 points.

WEST POINT — Oak Hill Academy girls basketball was defeated at home against Kirk Academy on Friday night, 61-37.
The Raiders (7-6) were led in scoring by Harley Vaughn, who had 11 points in the loss.
OHA will travel to play Marshall Academy in its next game at 6 p.m. Friday.

CALEDONIA — Caledonia boys basketball continues its hot start to the 2022-23 season, defeating Corinth, 61-38, on Friday night.
The Cavaliers (10-2) are now 2-0 in district play after a balanced offensive performance, with four players scoring in double figures.
Tylen Simpson and JD Dumas nearly outscored Corinth on their own, combining to score 35 points in the win.
Northwest Rankin 40, Starkville 38
FLOWOOD — Starkville boys basketball lost a close one on the road against Northwest Rankin on Saturday, 40-38.
The Yellow Jackets (9-3) were led offensively by Connor Rogers, who had 10 points in the loss.
Starkville will take on Tupelo in its next game at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 3.
