MILLPORT, Ala. — Caledonia basketball completed a doubleheader sweep of South Lamar (Alabama) on Thursday night, beginning with a 49-37 win for the girls team.
Ashia Williams led the Cavaliers (7-8) in the win with 10 points as Caledonia is one win away from getting back to the .500 mark this season.
Following that performance from the girls, Caledonia’s boys team made quick work of South Lamar, winning 79-54.
Tylen Simpson had himself a game for the Cavs (16-4), scoring 30 points in the win. KJ Barnes followed with an 18-point performance, and Mason Godsey scored 12 points as well for Caledonia.
Caledonia will next travel to play Itawamba Agricultural beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

AMORY — Columbus Christian Academy girls basketball defeated Amory Christian, 60-36, on Thursday night.
The Rams (10-7) were led by Faith Yeates, who scored a game-high 18 points in the win.
CCA will host West Memphis Christian School (Arkansas) in its next game at 6 p.m. Friday.

AMORY — Columbus Christian Academy girls basketball defeated Amory Christian Academy, 76-64, on Thursday night.
Garrett Weathers led the Rams (12-5) in scoring with 18 points, with Mason Wright close behind him, finishing with 17 points. Joe Michael Edwards (15 points) and Jackson Howard (10 points) also finished in double-figures for CCA offensively.
Columbus Christian will host WMCS at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
