Reggie Perry is headed back to Starkville.
The sophomore forward announced Tuesday night he will return to Mississippi State after testing the NBA Draft waters. The deadline for early entrants to withdraw their names from consideration is 5 p.m. June 10.
Perry averaged 9.7 points and 7.2 rebounds in 23.9 minutes per game last season. He was named to the All-Southeastern Conference Freshman Team for his work.
Perry’s return will help mitigate the losses of Quinndary Weatherspoon and Aric Holman. Coach Ben Howland will also have sophomore Robert Woodard II and junior Nick Weatherspoon — the latter of whom remains suspended.
Howland announced earlier this offseason that junior Lamar Peters will not return despite having outstanding eligibility.
The Bulldogs will enter next season coming off their first NCAA tournament appearance in a decade.
