BERRY, Ga. — Mississippi University for Women freshman cross country runner Hannah Owens put together the best season of any cross country athlete in Owls history this season.
She wrapped up her season at the Division III South Region championships at Berry College, setting a new school record in the 6-kilometer race with a time of 25:42.7 minutes, breaking her own mark in the process.
Owens finished 96th among 168 runners, one of two runners from MUW to post personal bests at the event. Keyondre Ford did so in the men’s 8-kilometer race with a time of 31:44.39.
The Owls had three representatives at the event, with Owens pacing the trio with her overall individual finish.
“I’m very happy with the three student-athletes we brought to represent our university and program at our very first NCAA competition,” head coach Dedrick Burnett said. “Two of the three ended up running personal-best times, so I couldn’t be more proud of them all.”
