Ole Miss senior guard Sean Pedulla scored 15 of his game-high 18 points in the first half Saturday afternoon against Southern Miss, and the No. 19 Rebels defeated the Golden Eagles 77-46 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi. Ole Miss held Southern Miss to 4 of 23 from 3-point range in the game.
Senior guard Jaylen Murray scored five of the first six points of the day for the Rebels (9-1), who jumped out to a 16-2 lead. Murray scored 11 points in the first half, helping Ole Miss to a 10-point halftime lead. The Rebels shot 9 of 17 from 3-point range in the first, including five made 3s from Pedulla.
Ole Miss scored the first nine points of the second half and increased the lead to 25 just less than seven minutes into the period. The Rebels held the Golden Eagles (4-6) to 21.7% from the field in the second half. Joining Pedulla in double-figure scoring was Murray, who finished with 14 points, and senior forward Jaemyn Brakefield, who scored 10 points — seven coming in the second half. The Rebels scored 24 points off 17 Southern Miss turnovers in the game.
Ole Miss hosts Southern on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
