The Mississippi Association of Coaches announced Tuesday the rosters for its Bernard Blackwell North/South All-Star Game and the roster for the annual Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Football Game, with players from many area teams getting the nod.
Representing the North as players in the Bernard Blackwell game from Starkville are offensive lineman Jason Posey, long snapper John Mansell, and manager Hayes Montfort.
West Point offensive lineman Aiden Brooks, defensive lineman Demarvion Haughton were selected while head coach Brett Morgan was named an assistant coach of the team. New Hope had running back Jeremiah Harkins selected alongside defensive lineman Micah Butler, and head coach Allen Glenn will serve as an assistant coach.
The game will be played at 11 a.m. Dec. 20 at Gulfport High School’s Milner Stadium. East Webster’s Ron Price was selected as the team’s head coach.
Wide receiver Jadien Taylor and linebacker Bennette Payton are the two Noxubee County Tigers to represent Mississippi against Alabama at noon on Dec.13 at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg. West Point defensive lineman Jorden Rush will join Tayor and Payton as the only three area players selected. Ryan Earnest of Laurel will be the team’s head coach.
