COLUMBUS — It was a good Monday for Mississippi University for Women golf as both the men’s and women’s teams swept the weekly accolades for the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC).
Men’s golfer Spence Davis and women’s golfer Emma Coggin earned SLIAC Golfers of the Week honors after two strong performances in the Music City Shootout in Joelton, Tennessee.
Davis, who helped guide The W to a win over the weekend, tied for low score individually as he shot three-over in the 36-hole event.
MUW finished first among 13 teams across 10 different schools, shooting 23-over as a program, 13 shots above second-place Swarthmore College.
On the women’s side, the Owls were 10th among 15 teams across 12 different schools, finishing 31 strokes away from a top-five finish. Coggins was the top individual for MUW, finishing 21st overall as she shot 24-over in the event.
