STARKVILLE — The Mississippi State women’s basketball is heading north of the border.
The Bulldogs will be among the eight-team field in the Greater Victoria Invitational Nov. 28-30. Other participants include Stanford, Syracuse, Green Bay, Houston, Bowling Green, San Francisco and California Baptist.
MSU will open the tournament at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 28 against San Francisco before meeting either Green Bay or Bowling Green the next day.
On the other half of the bracket, Syracuse will play Houston in the opening round, while Stanford and Cal Baptist will face one another.
The Bulldogs are 5-0 all-time against the tournament’s field with wins over Houston (3), Syracuse (1) and Green Bay (1). Stanford should be the highest ranked team in the event after the Cardinal advanced to the Elite Eight last season.
Syracuse will likely also join Stanford in the preseason top-25.
This marks the second-straight season MSU will play in Canada after the Bulldogs participated in last year’s Vancouver Showcase.
Broadcasting information for the tournament will be disclosed at a later date.
