STARKVILLE — For the third time in less than a week, Mississippi State women’s basketball has lost another game on its schedule.
MSU announced Wednesday morning that Thursday’s game against Auburn has been postponed due to inclement weather in the Starkville area. No make up date has been made at this time.
MSU previously had games against Ole Miss (Sunday) and No. 21 Tennessee (Tuesday) postponed as severe winter weather continues to make travel conditions difficult in the state.
The Bulldogs have now had nine games postponed or canceled entirely this season. Six games were postponed or canceled due to COVID-19-related issues outside the MSU program, while three have been related to the recent winter storm surge in Mississippi over the past week.
MSU has not played since last Thursday’s loss at No. 18 Arkansas. Should the schedule hold, the Bulldogs would next be in action Saturday against Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
MSU is currently riding a four-game losing streak for the first time since 2012-13. MSU’s last win came on Jan. 10 against Ole Miss.
