STARKVILLE — Mississippi State’s weekend schedule will see a change.
Multiple sources confirmed to The Dispatch Wednesday morning that Tennessee Tech would no longer make the trip due to COVID-19-related issues within the Golden Eagles’ program.
With Tennessee Tech unable to make the trip, MSU will now play Kent State in a three-game series beginning Friday at 6 p.m. Both MSU and Kent State put out official releases with the news Wednesday afternoon.
First pitch times for the weekend will be 6 p.m. on Friday, 2 p.m. on Saturday and Noon on Sunday. Tickets originally issued for the Tennessee Tech series will be honored for the games against Kent State.
MSU opened its season with a pair of top 10 wins over Texas and Texas Tech in the State Farm College Baseball Showdown. The Bulldogs also won their first home series of the year with two walk-off victories over Tulane on Saturday and Sunday.
