STARKVILLE — Mississippi State men’s basketball’s Martavious Russell became the latest Bulldog to enter the transfer portal Thursday, according to a report by 247sports.com
Russell, a true freshman last season from Coker, Alabama, played in 10 games for MSU, averaging 1.7 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.
Russell joined fellow freshman classmate Kimani Hamilton, a forward, who entered the transfer portal on April 3. Hamilton, from Clinton, Mississippi, played in 12 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 2.6 points and 1 rebound per game last season.
With their transfers, MSU’s 2022 recruiting class is down to one member in Shawn Jones Jr, a guard from Houston who averaged 3.2 points and 1.6 rebounds in 24 games last season.
