COLUMBUS — What a week it was for Mississippi University for Women women’s basketball player Conley Langford.
Already having recorded two double-doubles on the year, the junior guard recorded her third of the season with arguably her best college performance to date.
A 36-point, 22-rebound double-double against Eureka College on Saturday was plenty to earn her St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Player of the Week honors, averaging 24.5 PPG and 15.0 RPG over two games.
Langford, the unquestioned leader of the Owls, is now averaging 19.0 PPG and 9.3 RPG through nine games, shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 34.2 percent from three. She’s currently second in the SLIAC in scoring and rebounding.
“Conley is playing on a completely different level right now and she’s doing it consistently.,” head coach Drew Johnson said in Monday’s press release. “We see it every day in practice; we know what she is going to bring to the table every single day. If she keeps this up, she should be in the conversation for conference Player of the Year.”
