Former Tupelo High School standout Jake Weir will finish his collegiate career in Texas.

After four years at Mississippi State, Weir announced Tuesday that he has committed to Houston Christian University, an FCS school that plays in the Southland Conference.
Weir entered the transfer portal in mid-April. He joined the Bulldogs as a preferred walk-on in 2021 and never saw game action.
During his career at Tupelo, Weir passed for 3,585 yards with 29 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. His best season was as a junior, when he threw for 2,257 yards and 20 TDs with nine interceptions.
Houston Christian went 5-7 last season, including 3-4 in conference play.
