Athletes Unlimited is getting ready for its second softball season of the summer following the AUX league in June.
Among the athletes participating in the AU championship season include former Mississippi State softball standout Mia Davidson-Smith, a third place finisher in June’s AUX league.
In AUX, Davidson-Smith tied the single season record with five home runs, scoring 12 runs with 26 total bases in the process as she hit .417 with an OPS of nearly 1.700.
This will be Davidson-Smith’s third season with Athletes Unlimited with this championship season being her second after her rookie campaign in 2022.
Similar to AUX, an individual scoring system runs the league, with a group of 60 players changing between four teams every week for the duration of the five-week season.
In total, each team plays 15 games, or three games per week.
Davidson-Smith begins her season on Team McCleney (Blue) after being the No. 11 overall pick in the first draft for the league on Monday. Her first game is at 6 p.m. Friday.
