OXFORD – Former Arkansas cornerback Jaylon Braxton and tight end Luke Hasz have both committed to Ole Miss. Braxton announced his commitment Saturday morning on social media, and 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz first reported Braxton’s transfer Friday night. Hasz announced his commitment Saturday morning via social media.
Braxton, a four-star recruit in the 2023 class and three-star transfer, was a freshman All-SEC pick his first season. He started the first two games of 2024 but missed the final 10 with injury, per On3.
Hasz caught 26 passes for 324 yards and four touchdowns for the Razorbacks in 2024. He is rated as a four-star transfer and is the No. 23 player overall in the transfer portal.
Cornerback and tight end were both areas of need for Ole Miss this offseason. The Rebels will lose cornerbacks Trey Amos, Isaiah Hamilton and Brandon Turnage in addition to star tight end Caden Prieskorn. The Rebels will return tight end Dae’Quan Wright, who has 24 catches for 321 yards and three touchdowns in his first season since transferring from Virginia Tech.
Lacy commits
Former Missouri running back Kewan Lacy – a four-star recruit in the 2024 class in 247Sports’ composite rankings – has committed to Ole Miss, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported Monday night.
Lacy, who is from Lancaster, Texas, ran for 104 yards in six games this season as a true freshman. He ran for 1,513 yards and 19 touchdowns his senior year at Lancaster High. Ole Miss was one of his final choices out of high school, per On3, before he ultimately signed with the Tigers.
The Rebels’ running back room is in flux this offseason, as they lose Henry Parrish Jr., Ulysses Bentley IV and Rashad Amos. Ole Miss signed Shekai Mills-Knight, a four-star running back in the 2025 class, earlier this month.
A family affair
Former Nebraska edge rusher Princewill Umanmielen — the brother of current Rebels star Princely Umanmielen — has committed to Ole Miss, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported Saturday night. Princewill, who confirmed the report with a social media post, is the No. 4 overall ranked player in the transfer portal and a four-star transfer, per 247Sports’ rankings.
Princewill was a four-star recruit out of Manor High School in the 2023 class. In his two seasons with the Cornhuskers, the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder had 35 total tackles, seven tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Princely transferred to Ole Miss from Florida last offseason and shined in his lone season with the Rebels, tying for the team-lead with 10.5 sacks and earning first-team All-SEC honors.
With Princewill’s commitment, Ole Miss now has commitments from two of the top six players available in the transfer portal and three of the top 23, per 247Sports’ rankings. Four of the Rebels’ six transfer portal commitments have four-star rankings.
