The Starkville Academy girl’s soccer got back to winning ways in style on Thursday, defeating district opponent Lamar School in a remarkable 7-1 performance.
The Vols were led on the scoresheet by junior Betsy Gray Barrett with one goal and senior Rylee Fisher and freshman Elizabeth Fair, who each scored a hat-trick against the Raiders.
Head coach Boston Hampton and his team were looking for a response after back-to-back losses last week. A 1-0 loss at home to local rivals Heritage Academy was followed by a 2-1 defeat on the road at Bayou Academy.
The Vols go back on the road next week to face powerhouse Pillow Academy on Tuesday.
