Columbus Soccer Organization recently honored individuals who contributed to its fall recreational soccer season. Jason Spears was voted male recreational coach of the year. He coached two boys teams at U8 and U6. The mother and daughter coaching team of Aven and Ashley Matthews were voted female recreational coaches of the year. Amaria McCray was voted young female referee of the year, while Drew Pack was voted young male referee of the year. Micah Zellner was selected as TOP Soccer Buddy of the Year. TOP Soccer is CSO’s adaptive soccer program for players with special needs. Buddies work with individual players to help them play the game. Zellner is in his second year with TOP Soccer.
