COLUMBUS — In just 31 career games played at Mississippi University for Women, junior guard Conley Langford forever etched her name in the annals of Owls women’s basketball history.
Her 29-point performance in Saturday’s 84-53 loss against Westminster College now gives her 574 career points, surpassing Rokilla Wallace for the current program record since athletics were reinstated at The W for the 2018-19 season.
Saturday was also Langford’s 21st consecutive game in double-figures and her fourth double-double of the season, recording 12 rebounds as well.
This season alone, Langford is averaging 19.3 PPG and 9.1 RPG while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 34.6 percent from beyond the arc. She’s also shooting 83 percent from the foul line.
Nine games remain this season, and at this rate, Langford will become the first 1000-point scorer in Owls history as a senior and could record 500 points in a single season as well.
