CALEDONIA — The Cavaliers baseball team has a new head coach.
Chase Reeves was confirmed as the new Caledonia coach on Tuesday, arriving from the junior college level. Reeves follows Brad Hamilton, who led the team for four years as a head coach after spending three years as an assistant. Hamilton leaves the Cavaliers with a 60-50 overall record.

Reeves spent the last six years as the assistant coach for Brett Kimbrel’s East Mississippi Community College baseball staff, serving as a hitting coach and a recruiting coordinator for the Lions. He helped the team post their winningest season in a decade, going 30-22 in 2024.
Reeves was a six-year letterman at Hamilton, batting .426 with 34 home runs and 180 RBIs in his high school career. As a two-way player ,his production was matched on the mound, recording a 39-9 career record with a 1.14 ERA and 501 career strikeouts.
Reeves was a Louisville Slugger All-American and three-time All-State selection at Hamilton. He was named the MHSAA Class 2A Player of the Year in his senior season before signing with Ole Miss.
After redshirting in 2012, Reeves transferred to EMCC. He suffered a shoulder injury, interrupting his freshman year, but returned as a sophomore to lead the team with 32 RBIs and tie the team lead with six home runs.
Reeves transferred to Blue Mountain College, where injuries took a toll on the rest of his playing career. He became a full-time assistant at Blue Mountain for two years before returning to the Lions.
