COLUMBUS — Columbus Christian Academy celebrated one of its most decorated seniors on Monday with a signing day ceremony for Presley Andrews, who signed with Lyon College.
Andrews was a prominent player on the Lady Rams basketball team, winning two MAIS Class 2A championships with the Rams in 2023 and 2025.
Andrews said the day and the celebrations were especially meaningful to her after an accomplished career with the Rams.
“It’s a period point to the years of work I’ve put into the sport and myself to get to this point,” she said. “To be here with my family and have this as a staple of where I’m at in my basketball career means a lot to me.”
Andrews joins a Lyon College program that competes in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Scots play in the same division as the Mississippi University for Women, meaning she will have at least one local game each season at The W in which her family can see her play.
Andrews took the opportunity to thank her family and give special credit to her father for his support and his role in encouraging her throughout her time as an athlete.
“I would say more than anybody else in my life, my dad has been my biggest supporter throughout the years,” Andrews said. “No matter the point in my life, when it came to sports, he was always somebody there to tell me what I needed to hear, even if I didn’t want to hear it. He was my biggest encourager and supporter when I felt like I didn’t have anyone in my corner. He’s the biggest supporter anyone could have, and I wanted to show how much I appreciated him over the years.”
