IUKA — Tuesday was quite the day for Caledonia track and field as the Cavaliers swept the boys and girls team competitions at the Tomahawk Invitational, hosted by Tishomingo County.
In the 10-team boys field, Caledonia finished with 221.25 points and the girls team paced the field with 178.5 points.
Both teams dominated the podium in Iuka, starting with the boys team, where the Cavs took first in nine different events.
In boys track events, Haiden Price won the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.87 seconds, Carter Reed won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:06, Dylan Reed took home first in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:24 and Micah O’Daniel won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 42.79 seconds.
In team races, the 800-meter relay quartet won with a time of 1:35 and the 1,600-meter relay quarter finished first with a time of 3:47.
In field events, O’Daniel won the triple jump with a mark of 43 feet, Cam Coleman won the shot put event with a mark of 40 feet, one inch and Ethan Ramirez won discus with a mark of 149 feet, 10 inches.
Over on the girls side, in track events, Delani Clements won the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.13 seconds, Taliya Carter won the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.49 seconds, Ella Shepherd won the 3,200-meter run with a 12:29 finish and Alexis Wilburn won the 300 hurdles with a 52.21 second finish.
In girls team events, the Cavs won the 800-meter relay with a time of 1:51 and in field events, Wilburn took home first in high jump with a mark of 5 feet, 2 inches.
