STARKVILLE — After a successful indoor track and field season, the Bulldogs begin their outdoor schedule weekend at the Hurricane invitational hosted by the University of Miami.
Mississippi State’s squad features a mix of returnees and newcomers, with field event athletes expected to shine during the outdoor season, beginning with the javelin team.
Two qualifiers for last year’s NCAA championships, Rémi Rougetet and Tyriq Horsford, are back for this season, along with Franck Di Sanza, a first-team All-American in 2021.
Throwers Roury McCloyen and Jhorydn Stallworth are also heading out for the spring, McCloyen’s first after breaking program records in shot put during the indoor season.
He also had the best mark of any freshman in the country during the winter.
On the track, Tyrese Reid and Sherman Hawkins are taking their first-team All-SEC performances from the indoor season outdoors.
Additionally, Jordan and Jaitlyn Ware highlight the freshman debuts on the track for MSU’s outdoor season, a pair of 200-meter runners who shined in the winter.
