Mississippi State football learned its annual and future Southeastern Conference opponents through 2029 after the conference office released a restructured rotational schedule for all teams on Tuesday. The Bulldogs continue to face rivals Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl every season, as well as Alabama and Vanderbilt in annual matchups beginning in 2026.
MSU and Ole Miss have a long-running and occasionally heated rivalry, while the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide have met on the gridiron 108 times, most recently in 2023. Mississippi State has faced Vanderbilt 24 times, with the most recent meeting in 2021.
The conference announced earlier this year that it would move to a nine-game regular season conference schedule, which pairs teams with three annual opponents and a rotating group of opponents for home-and-home games every other year.
In 2026, the Bulldogs will face Auburn, Missouri and Oklahoma at home with road trips to LSU, South Carolina and Texas. Those fixtures will swap locations for return games in 2028.
In 2027, the Bulldogs will face Arkansas, Florida and Texas A&M at home with road trips to Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee. The same process of switching locations for reverse fixtures will occur in 2029.
The Egg Bowl will continue its tradition of taking place the week of Thanksgiving, though no announcement has been made regarding the game’s return to its traditional Thanksgiving Day primetime slot or the Black Friday kickoff of recent years.
