STARKVILLE — The accolades continue to flow in for Mississippi State women’s soccer following the most successful season in program history.
On Friday, the Bulldogs coaching staff, led by head coach James Armstrong, were named the 2023 NCAA Southeast Staff of the Year by United Soccer Coaches.
The Bulldogs set several all-time program marks this season, including a four-match winning and six-match unbeaten streak in the Southeastern Conference, five conference wins, 17 conference points, 14 goals conceded all season and their first Sweet 16 appearance ever.
Additionally, the Bulldogs notched the most NCAA tournament wins in a season (two), the first SEC tournament semifinal appearance in program history and highest NCAA tournament seed (6), all en route to a 12-6-5 campaign.
Region Staff of the Year awards winners will now be nominated for the National Staff of the Year award, for which voting begins on Dec. 6. The Bulldogs will be honored along with other Region Staff of the Year winners during the College Coaches Awards Ceremony at the United Soccer Coaches Convention in California on Jan. 11, 2024.
