Valentine memory
Need a good place to go for Valentine’s day? Try a funeral.
Take your true love to the funeral of someone who left this earth much too soon. Someone who was the embodiment of a powerful husband, striving to do the best for his bride. An accomplished artist who put himself out to the world, who shared all of his gifts each and every day.
Let them see the fruits of the life of an entrepreneur who tried his best to provide for a spouse and build a loving home. Someone who walked the walk, always displaying a shining example of his deepest beliefs in every action he took.
See who gathered, and hear the stories shared about a man who lived out loud. A builder, tinkerer, and gardener who earned the attendance of hundreds for his farewell. Not too shabby for a 33-year-old kid.
Most importantly, let the love of your life see that his wife smiled at as much she cried, quite simply from the spirit of the man.
Let them see what love is meant to look like, in person.
I saw it myself, at my friend Chris McDill’s memorial, and I’ll always be fond of that Valentine memory. He will be missed.
