I was very disappointed in the Associated Press coverage of the actual swearing-in ceremony for President Trump.
This is the sentence to which I am objecting:
“Trump followed moments after noon, using both a family Bible and the one used by President Abraham Lincoln at his 1861 inauguration as Chief Justice John Roberts administered his oath.”
The implication is that President Trump had his hand on the pair of Bibles Melania held as he took his oath. He did not. Melania did indeed hold both Bibles, but President Trump’s left hand was at his side as the oath was administered.
