Comments on recent editorial and Slim Smith column
Thank you for your excellent opinion about what should be the LINK’s objectives going forward and how to best achieve them. All the industrial development has caused the local citizens to have to deal with the usual negative consequences, such as truck and train noise, congestion, and road damage. For them to get jobs was the point in the first place, right? Now with regard to Slim’s “Stickin it” column, he was deceptive to make the new tax law sound cruel and likely to cause starvation. All it does is require adults under age 64 without children under 14 to work, train, look for work, or volunteer 20 hours a week. Not a single person will lose benefits unless they want to. Thanks for the point about Gov. Paul Johnson’s (Democrat) shameful treatment of the poor.
