More trees would enhance city’s appeal
It is encouraging to see the recent improvements to sidewalks and the planting of new trees along Fifth Street North near downtown. As these trees mature over the coming years, they will significantly enhance the area’s appearance, soften the look of poorly maintained buildings, and create a more welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and commuters.
Expanding this initiative along the full stretch of Highway 45 within city limits, as well as to other major streets, would further elevate the city’s visual appeal. Encouraging private businesses to plant trees in available spaces in front of their properties could also contribute meaningfully to this effort.
Such steps would help establish Columbus as a greener, more attractive city, offering a lasting positive impression to all who live in or pass through it.
