Leroy Brooks here is my response to your letter in The Commercial Dispatch. I’m done with it after this.
District 41, you are witnessing first hand someone who has ruined their legacy fighting to stay relevant through others. Leroy Brooks is a liar! I have never told him that it would be too hard to be mentored by him. I haven’t had a conversation with you besides when you lost your Mayor bid, and I asked you a series of questions you never answered. If you want to support my opponent, do that, but do not lie on me. This failed attempt at shaming me is why you have nothing to show for 41 years of service.
The reason I am the better candidate is because as times have changed, you and those who you mentor have clung to outdated ideologies and practices, refusing to adapt to the shifting needs and values of their constituents. Your stubbornness not only alienated a younger generation but also eroded the trust of long-time supporters who once believed in your vision.
I am the only candidate with a plan for District 41. Since you love to play in identity politics and asked why I was running. I am running because the courts saw an injustice and had the lines redrawn to give minorities a fair shot in representation. As such a “pro black” statesman you should be applauding my decision to represent the people of District 41. Let the people decide and get off your bully pulpit.
On August 5, 2025 vote for Pierre D. Beard, Sr. District 41 House of Representatives.
