It seems like an epoch ago that I wrote that Hitler and Trump are nothing alike. While they share a lot of political tactics, they have nothing else in common. It is a serious mistake for Trump’s opponents to conflate them. It is also a mistake to call Trump a fascist, even though his tactics conform to most of the elements of fascism; to wit: authoritarianism, nationalism, militarism, suppression of dissent, opposition to free elections and a natural social hierarchy. Fascism is different in that it exerts significant control over the economy, directing production and resources to serve national interests. I think Trump will eventually impose that, but he knows that his oligarchs are not yet sufficiently subservient. So, all y’all Trump haters — just call him a dictator.
Kristi Noem has said that the soldiers in L.A. are there to occupy L.A. to protect against the “socialist” local government. She really said that. Imagine if Joe Biden had sent troops to occupy Jackson to protect us from our “radical right-wing” government. OMG.
