For more than 30 years, Family Pharmacy at the Donut Factory has proudly served the Columbus community. We’ve been more than a pharmacy — we’ve been a neighbor, a friend, and a trusted resource for families who count on personal, reliable care.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of this location as of Thursday, July 31, 2025, not because of a lack of dedication or customer support, but because of the ongoing financial pressures created by pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) and decreasing reimbursement rates. Despite our best efforts, these unregulated practices have made it impossible for small, independent pharmacies like ours to keep their doors open.
This is not an isolated incident. Family Pharmacy has now been forced to close three locations in the past two years. Each closure means fewer options for patients, longer wait times, and less personalized care for the people who need it most.
We urgently need reform. We are asking our community to please reach out to your legislators and urge them to take action to stop PBMs from driving independent pharmacies out of business. Without change, more closures will follow — not just here, but across the country — and the impact on patient care will be devastating.
We are incredibly grateful to the Columbus community for your loyalty and support over the past four decades. We remain committed to serving you at our remaining 4 locations and will continue to fight for fair practices that keep independent pharmacies alive.
