I read in the May 2nd Commercial Dispatch about a leaked internal draft for the Department of Health and Human Services, reported by the Associated Press. This was the quote that caught my attention: “The federal government should not be in the business of mandating curriculum, locations, and performance standards for any form of education.” This was said to align with the Trump administration’s thinking about education, to shift such decisions away from federal oversight into the hands of the states and/or parents.
I cannot seem to get this information to mesh with what the Trump administration is trying to do to Harvard. Surely Harvard fits the description of “any form of education”?
