JACKSON — Rev. Vinson Ballard, 58, died June 4, 2024, in Greenwood.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Turner Chapel A.M.E. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Ballard was born Jan. 18, 1965, to the late John Ballard Jr. and Rev. Mary Ida Brewer-Ballard. He was formerly employed as an ADA compliance officer, administrator and university counselor at Mississippi Valley State University, as the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator at Jackson State University and as itinerant elder in the A.M.E. Church in the Eighth Episcopal District.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Patmon and John Ballard III; and sister, Cynthia Ballard.
He is survived by his wife, Darlita Ballard; sons, Molefi Ballard and Maulana Ballard; step-sons, Kimber Camper and Kendall Camper; brothers, Charles Brewer and Eddie Holliness; sisters, Susie O’Neal and Mary James; and two grandchildren.
