WEST POINT — Velma Stennis Weeks, 94, died May 12, 2023, at her residence.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Mt. Hermon M.B. Church, with Rev. Timothy Brinkley officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Weeks was born on Jan. 9, 1929, in Winston County, to the late Guy Stennis and Myrtle Stennis. She was a former teacher.
She is survived by her son, Cleveland Weeks Jr.; siblings, Jessie Stennis, Guy Stennis, Warren Stennis, Thelma Gregory, Freddy Hampton and Coredia Miller; and four grandchildren.
