Thomas T. “Tom” Roberts, age 84, of Columbus, MS, passed away September 19, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, September 22, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Roy Myers officiating and Rev. Jearl Hunley assisting. The interment immediately follow ed at Friendship Cemetery with military honors. Visitation was Sunday, September 21, 2014, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home. Mr. Roberts was born December 21, 1929, in Monroe County, MS, to the late Morris W. and Mary Tubb Roberts. He was a graduate of Becker High School. Mr. Roberts was a retired United States Air Force veteran of Korea and recipient of the Bronze Star. He then retired from Omnova as a sales manager after 23 years of service. Mr. Roberts also worked for Mitchell Automotive for many years. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Y. Roberts. Survivors include his son, Van Roberts of Columbus, MS, and brother, Jimmy Roberts of Jackson, MS. Pallbearers were Mike McGill, Ben Thomas, Bob Boland, Gary Barnett, Chuck Carroll, Joe Godfrey, Walt Mosley, and Dennis Coleman. Honorary pallbearers were Sidney & Mary Thompson, Dr. Brett Brown, Larry Campbell, Mark Alexander, Foot Donald, Dwayne Burns, Miller T. Sllers, Al Cummings, William E.
