COLUMBUS — Mary D. Randolph James, 101, passed away.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at Turner Chapel A.M.E. Church. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the church. Lee-Sykes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. James was born Oct. 19, 1921, in Columbus, to the late David and Rachel Black Randolph. She was formerly employed with Columbus Hospital Inc./Golden Triangle Regional Medical Center/Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle as lead cashier in the main cafeteria. She was a member of Turner Chapel A.M.E.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert James Jr.; son, Robert David James; brothers, Sandy Will Randolph and John Mark Randolph; and sisters, Pearlie Mae McCrary, Mattie Will Waldon, Ida D. Swopes, Katie Mitchell and Ruth Rachel Mitchell.
She is survived by her children, Doris J. Ross of Florissant, Missouri, Ida Maxine Robinson of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Mary Louise Waldon Gibson-Woolen of Birmingham, Alabama, Jeanell J. Hines-Walks of Derwood, Maryland, Raymond James, Ocie James and Tommy James, all of Columbus; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
