Ken Aldridge

Kenneth “Ken” Aldridge, 82, of Columbus, MS, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- GT.
Visitation will be Monday, July 17, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Fairview Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Bro. Sammy Crawford and Bro. Tommy Gillon officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery, Columbus, MS, with Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS directing.
Ken was born in Prentiss County, MS, on July 1, 1941, to the late Wess Aldridge and Vera Oaks Aldridge. He grew up in Tishomingo County, MS, where he graduated from Tishomingo High School. He married Millie Priddy on December 17, 1960, and was together for 62 years. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Columbus, MS, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Director, and taught a men Sunday School class for many years.
Ken spent 13 years in the printing business before entering the Life and Health Insurance business where he remained active for over 50 years until his passing. He was member of the Five County Association of Life Underwriters and served as the president for one year. He served as moderator of the Life Underwriters Training Council. He won numerous company awards and the National Sales Achievement Award for several years. In 2023, he was instrumental in getting a law passed for someone with 25 years experience in Life and Health Insurance and age 65 would not have to take continuing education to renew their insurance licenses.
In addition to his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his wife, Millie Priddy Aldridge; and sister, Sue Gist.
Ken is survived by his son, Ron Aldridge of Bartlett, TN; daughter, Leasha (Chris) Jones of Steens, MS; brother, Bob Aldridge of Tishomingo, MS; grandchildren, Kelsey (Micah) Thompson, Madison (Scott) Walker and Wesley Aldridge; and great grandchildren, Tanner Thompson, Millie Walker and Wade Walker.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Lavender, Bob Crigler, Charles Patrick, Russell Caldwell, Eddie Strickland, Kevin Glusenkamp.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the member of Richard Schmidt’s Sunday School Class.
