Judy Shepherd Johnson, age 73, of Steens, MS, passed away September 7, 2023, at her residence.
An at home memorial service and visitation time will be held on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM, at 404 Neilson Rd., Steens, MS 39766. Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Judy was born September 5, 1950, in Columbus, MS, to the late William Vertis and Ruth Hall Shepherd. She worked and retired from 4 County after 37 years of service then worked with her husband at Auto Body Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Doug Shepherd.
Survivors include her husband, who she married on July 10, 1970, Arthur H. Johnson; daughter, Tiffany J. (George) Seabrooks; grandsons, Jeremy (Morgan) Eaves and Taylor (Paul) Eaves; great-grandchildren, Hayden Eaves, Corbin Eaves, Olivia Eaves and
Blakelea Eaves; very special friends, John Jones and Cindy Hudson; our special angel who helped care for her in her last days on earth, Rick and Lisa Leverette; special nephew, William A. Douglas; and a plethora of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Gentiva Hospice and personal friend Dr. Brad Brown. The family would also like to express their thanks and appreciation to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in Judy’s honor, to the Columbus Lowndes Humane Society, 50 Airline Rd., Columbus, MS 39702.
