Jo Anne Lowe Logan Nelson, age 83, died Monday, June 5, 2023, at her residence in Steens.
A funeral service will be held Thursday June 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Memorial Gunter Peel Funeral Home Chapel with Sonny McLellan and Tyler Wheat officiating; burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Nelson was born on December 26, 1939, in Pickens County, Alabama, to the late Thomas Roscoe Lowe and Maudie Mae Jones Lowe. She was a longtime member of Lone Oak Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Rayburn Erven Logan and Jimmy “Jim” Nelson; her sisters, Faye Lowe Mason and Sarah Alice Lowe Stokes; her brothers, Charles Thomas Lowe and Eugene Lowe; and her son-in-law, Ronnie Dale Thigpen.
Survivors include daughters, Marla Logan Thigpen, Brandon, MS, Maria Logan Scott, (Josh), Steens MS, Melissa Logan Grey, (Michael), Flowood, MS; step-daughter, Jamiee Nelson Sanford, (Chris), Columbus, MS; brothers, Jimmy Lowe, (Jennene), Hueytown, AL , Ted Lowe, (Fran), Newbern, TN; grandchildren, Taylor Stephens, Madison Stephens, Brooke Scott, Sean Grey, Hannah Grey, Liam Grey, Collier Sanford, Perry Sanford and Reagan Sanford.
Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Stephens, Carson Traywick, Mark Mason, Greg Wheat, Brent Mitchell and Keith Mitchell.
