COLUMBUS — Eugene Jones, 55, died Sept. 26, 2013, at Darlington Oaks Community Hospice. Services are Friday at 1 p.m. at Carter’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Kamal Karriem officiating. Burial will follow in Sandfield Cemetery. Visitation is today from noon to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Jones was born Aug. 10, 1958, to the late David L. Jones and Lula Harris. He was a graduate of Motley High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Linda Fisher Jones of Columbus; stepchildren, Taketta Fisher, Taquetta Fisher, Deangelo Fisher, Darmarcus Fisher, Damontay Fisher, Derekio Fisher, and Davartex Fisher, all of Columbus; siblings, Frank Jones and Linda Oneal Petty, both of Columbus, Alice Ann Boles, Katina Noble and Michael Jones, all of Texas and David Lee Jones of New York; stepmother, Alice L. Jones of Columbus; and nine stepgrandchildren.
