WEST POINT — Eddie Collins, 80, died Sept. 15, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Fountain Head M.B. Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald Anderson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11 a.m. prior to services at the cemetery. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Collins was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Clay County, to the late Menre Collins Sr. and Minnie Pearl Randle. He was formerly employed as a contractor.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Collins; siblings, Menre Collins Jr., Allen Collins, William Earl Collins, Henry Ewing, Jessie Randle, Shirley Eggerson and Ada Collins.
He is survived by his children, Anthony Gardner, Reginald Gardner, Regina Gardner, Debra Eley, Charlotte Lindsey and Angela Owens, all of West Point; siblings, Alphonso Collins, Robert Collins, Francis Lenoir, all of St. Louis, Missouri, Stacey Bradshaw and Stephanie Bradshaw, both of West Point; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
