A Lowndes County woman faces felony charges after taking two vehicles Saturday night, driving while under the influence of alcohol and leaving a man on the side of the road in his boxers, according to police.
Tiffany Craven, 23, of 195 Nichols Bend Road in Columbus, was arrested by the Columbus Police Department on two counts of felony taking of a vehicle and one count of DUI after a string of incidents began at Porter Lounge on Highway 69.
Columbus police officers were dispatched to the bar late Saturday night after a female complainant reported Craven and a male companion drove off in her gray 1998 Toyota Camry.
At some point while driving on Highway 82, reportedly following an argument with Craven, the unidentified male companion exited the vehicle wearing only his boxer shorts; Craven drove off.
Moments later, a white 2005 Ford F-150 saw the 1998 Camry on the side of the road and stopped to assist.
The Camry had struck something or someone as there was damage to the front of the vehicle and windshield and blood on the outside and the inside of the car.
As the unidentified driver of the F-150 attempted to help Craven, she, according to police reports, walked behind his truck to conceal herself from the road as she intended to urinate in the grass.
Craven then entered the F-150 and drove away, leaving the truck”s driver on the side of the road.
Craven was involved in a second accident at the corner of Lehmberg Road and Highway 182. The Lowndes County Sheriff”s Office responded to the accident and arrested Craven for DUI.
The Columbus Police Department later charged her with two counts of felony taking of a vehicle.
Craven already is on probation for an unspecified conviction. She is being held at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
