CLAY COUNTY – A man accused of burglarizing a West Point church was extradited to Clay County on Friday after being arrested in Pennsylvania.
Caleb Heard, 26, is charged with burglary of a commercial building, according to a Clay County Sheriff’s Office press release.
Sheriff’s deputies on Aug. 27 responded to Palo Alto M.B. Church on Highway 47 in reference to a reported burglary. Two instrument amplifiers had been stolen as well as a safe.
Investigators on Sept. 16 identified Heard as a suspect. Heard was arrested in October in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on unrelated charges and extradited back to Clay County. He was booked at Clay County Detention Center on Friday.
Two of the stolen amplifiers have been recovered, the press release said.
Heard is awaiting his initial appearance in court.
