The Starkville Area Arts Council is hosting a reading and reception for its Poetry and Art Exhibit in its Workshop Gallery at 122 E. Main Street.

The J.L. King Center is hosting a fundraising event where participants are encouraged to dress up as witches. The “witches” then walk or ride around downtown, making stops in downtown businesses. The ride will begin in Fire Station Park.

The Starkville Main Street Association is hosting a craft beer-tasting event where participants can shop in downtown stores and sample a different flavor at each stop, while receiving a 20% discount off of store merchandise in participating stores.

Joseph Kingma, award-winning pianist, will be performing a recital as a part of the Mississippi Music Teachers Association annual conference. The recital is free and open to everyone, and the recital will be located in the Lecture-Recital Hall in the Music Building on the Mississippi State University campus.

The Oktoc Country Store is returning for its 51st year at the Oktoc CommunityClub Building at the corner of Oktoc Road and Robinson Road. There will be Oktoc Brunswick stew, freshly boiled peanuts, homemade cookies and more.

The Trinity Place Retirement Community is holding the Diamonds and Dancing Gala at the Trotter Convention Center starting at 5:30 p.m. The benefit will include music, a silent auction and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
