Spring Pilgrimage season has begun! This weekend has a variety of events to choose from, including home tours, Catfish in the Alley, Tales from the Crypt tours, the Stella Shouting Contest and more! There is sure to be something for everyone.

The Preservation Society of Columbus is hosting its annual Spring Pilgrimage events, including the Jubilee of Homes tours through three weekends in April. Tours will be going on every Friday through Sunday, April 5-21. Other tours and special events will also be going on throughout the month. Tickets are available online at preservecolumbus.com.

The Columbus-Lowndes Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting Catfish in the Alley. On Friday, there will be barbecue and blues on the lawn of the Tennessee Williams Home Museum and Welcome Center at 300 Main Street from noon to 2 p.m., with music by Blind Mississippi Morris and barbecue plates for $10 by Harding Catering. On Saturday, there will be a festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Historic Catfish Alley on 4th Street South, featuring music by Keith and Margie Brown, the Columbus Community Gospel Choir and Mr. Sipp.

Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science students are reenacting notable historical figures at Friendship Cemetery. Tours are from 7-10 p.m., but attendees should arrive by 9 p.m. for the final tour. Other performances will be on April 10 and 12. Tickets for adults are $5, while student and child tickets are $3. West Point
The Black Prairie Blues Museum is hosting a reception for the Mississippi State University Graphic Design Student Poster Exhibit, “Greetings from Lala Land,” based on the life and umbrella grove of longtime Starkville resident Charles “Lala” Evans. Evans will be present to speak about the garden and his experiences. The reception is free and open to the public.

The Columbus Arts Council and Tennessee Williams Tribute will be hosting the annual Stella Shouting Contest, along with a Spring Night Market. Festival events kick off at 3:30 p.m. while live music starts at 4. Sign-ups for the shouting contest begin at 4:30 p.m. and shouting will begin at 5. All events will take place on College Street beside Hollyhocks.

The Junior Auxiliary of Columbus is hosting its 74th annual charity ball at the Trotter Convention Center. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $100 per person for table seating and will include Royalty Breakfast from 9:30-11:30 p.m. Attendees must be 21 years old or older.
