The two dine-in Pizza Hut locations in Columbus are closing.
Vonnie Walbert, vice president of human resources with NPC International, confirmed to The Dispatch this afternoon that Tuesday will be the last day of business for the pizza eateries.
One is located at 2215 Hwy. 45 North. The other is located at 522 Alabama St. When they close Tuesday at 11 p.m., they will not reopen.
NPC International owns the four Pizza Hut locations in Columbus. The two carry-out/delivery-only locations in Columbus — one on Idlewild Road, one on Highway 45 North beside Kroger — will remain open.
The reason for the closures of the dine-in locations is “overlap in the trade area,” Walbert said.
“We expect to continue to fully provide service to the area,” she added.
Each of the eateries that are closing have 10 to 12 employees, according to Walbert. Most of them, according to Walbert, will transfer to other Pizza Huts in the area.
The closures mean that the only Pizza Hut dine-in location left in the Golden Triangle will be in Starkville, on Highway 12.
