STARKVILLE — Two local men were arrested for unrelated robberies on Garrard Road on Tuesday morning, according to Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office records.

Tyverius Nichols, 20, of Starkville, allegedly stole cash at gunpoint from an acquaintance at about 3 a.m. Sunday outside of a home on Garrard Road, according to Starkville Police Department Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady. He has been charged with armed robbery.
Nichols was arrested at a residence in Oktibbeha County, Lovelady said. His bond has been set at $100,000.

Dontavious Lucious, 29, of Oktibbeha County, allegedly stole cash from someone he knew inside an apartment on Garrard Road on May 14, Lovelady said. SPD received the call at about 8:54 p.m. He has been charged with robbery, though this incident did not involve a weapon.
There were no injuries reported in either incident and SPD is still actively investigating both robberies, Lovelady said.
