STARKVILLE — Police have arrested two men in a shooting incident Friday at the University Crossing shopping center on Highway 12 East.
Jahreal Isaac, 19, and JahHayvious Clayton, 18, both of Starkville, are charged with two counts each of aggravated assault and four counts each of felony malicious mischief.
A Starkville Police Department press release said a physical altercation began about 5:20 p.m. outside Rue 21 and led to multiple gunshots being fired before parties involved in the fight fled the scene toward Blackjack Road.
Officers, with the assistance of Oktibbeha County sheriff’s deputies, located and arrested Isaac and Clayton in the rural part of the county. SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said one of the men arrested had sustained a gunshot wound, but he wouldn’t confirm which.
Lovelady said police are unaware of any other injuries related to the shooting.
More arrests are possible, the press release said.
