Two people were arrested for aggravated assaults last week in separate incidents.
On March 19, Lowndes County sheriff’s deputies arrested Jerrico Dooley, 22, of Macon, in reference to an assault in Crawford the week before. Dooley allegedly became involved in a domestic disturbance on March 14 that ended with his pepper spraying a woman and a juvenile.
Dooley was charged with domestic violence aggravated assault and a slew of misdemeanors, including simple assault on a minor. He is in custody at Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $17,161 bond.
On Friday, Columbus police arrested a woman accused of attacking another woman with a box cutter, according to Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton.
Shelton said the suspect, Ashley Lashaundra Martin, 33, of 110 Dowdle Street in Columbus, had become involved in an altercation with the victim and cut her with the box cutter. The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle where she was treated and released.
Martin was charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and has been released from Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on $200,000 bond.
