TUPELO — The city’s new police chief is officially on the job.
WTVA reports that Chief Bart Aguirre was sworn in Monday at Tupelo City Hall.
Aguirre has been with the Police Department for more than two decades, working in the patrol, narcotics and investigations divisions.
He replaces Tony Carlton, who announced his resignation as police chief earlier this year.
